If you’re an author, editor, publisher or other entity with books you’d like me to review or other business-related questions about Cooking Up Romance, please take a look at these guidelines prior to contacting me. Currently Cooking Up Romance is CLOSED TO SUBMISSIONS. I am not currently accepting ARCs or other materials for review. For reference and in the future when I am sure I will be opening back up to review copies, here are the guidelines I generally follow.
1. Only romance works will be considered for review. Any subgenre including contemporary, historical, paranormal, fantasy or erotic with any combination of genders. Self-published and ebooks are welcome. No amnesia, stalker ex-boyfriends or secret babies, please. I won’t enjoy it and will likely DNF or rate the book poorly.
2. Only books that I enjoy will receive blog reviews here on the site. The structure of this blog, with reviews attached to recipes, means that it’s too much effort for me to create a post about a book I didn’t find exceptional in some way. Books not chosen for review on Cooking Up Romance may be rated and reviewed on Goodreads and/or Amazon.
3. This is a one-person blog published twice a week. I cannot guarantee timing of reviews to coincide with launch promotional schedules unless book is received more than 30 days ahead of publication.
4. Books with explicit mention of food, characters in food-related occupations or set in areas with strong traditions of regional cuisine will receive first priority. I prefer .mobi files for review copies when available.
5. At this time, Cooking Up Romance does not accept guest posts, participate in blog tours or do cover reveals.
6. Requests for media kits/advertising rates are reviewed on a case by case basis and will be provided if requested via email inquiry. If you are another type of advertiser or non-romance publicity, keep in mind that the material reviewed on this blog is often of an explicit, adult nature though the reviews themselves are never more than PG-13. If this is in opposition to your brand values, please be cautious about contacting me for advertising rates, sponsored posts or product reviews.
7. Have a question? You can email me at elisabethjlane {at} gmail {dot} com or tweet me @elisabethjlane.
